Description or Abstract Statement

The Pride in Memory project is a community-led initiative that seeks to preserve LGTBQ+ history in the Quad Cities of Iowa and Illinois. This interactive Story Map is based on more than 30 oral histories conducted with older LGTBQ+ community members and allies since 2020 and shows key moments and places of LGTBQ+ history in the Quad Cities. Augustana College students and faculty collaborated with the Pride in Memory steering committee to conduct oral histories and research projects on LGTBQ+ experiences and activism in the Quad Cities.
